Nokia E7 Keyboard not working

Could anyone give me any advice on how to fix my E7 without going to NCP?  When you open the keyboard, it does not register that it has been opened, and also only the top row of the keyboard works  (does numbers correctly but characters wrong).  I've already tried doing a hard reset on the phone which was to no avail.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately we are not allowed to discuss disassembly of devices upon this mnufacturer's sponsored forum, but as you would appear to have excluded aoftware corruption apart from trying to re-install existing device software via Nokia Suite > Tools > Software updates there remains little you can do other than take to Nokia Care facility.

Symbian specialist until 31/01/2013 with interests in Maemo & MeeGo but an aversion to Windows!
