Hi,

On page http://europe.nokia.com/A41107007 the E71 is stated as being compatible with Nokia Internet Radio, but on following the link to http://europe.nokia.com/A41121127 this particular model is not listed.

Has anyone actually managed to install this particular application successfully on an E71 please?

I have not installed the software but there should be no reason why it would not work. It uses a simple WiLAN or Packet Data connection to stream radio from around the world.

Best would be to install it and try it, you can't do any harm to the phone.

I tried N95, E65, E51 -- all versions crash on my E71.

yes... I tried couple of them and all crash on E71 (I mean heavily crash!!!)

Hi,

Thanks for your replies everyone, but it does indeed appear that there is a definate problem with this particular function on the E71.

I am unable to try antything out for myself at the moment, as I will not be getting my new phone until next week, but I did read on one blog that someone had tried to download and install the E65 verson but reported that it shut down after a few seconds of use.

Hopefully Nokia are aware of the problem, and will come up with a 'fix' before too long.

Fried Brains is right the N82 version works well.
Just one downside. The labels for the softkeys are on the right of the display, not along the bottom. Otherwise works fine!

On my E71-2: I tried all versions including the N82 version. Installed on Phone memory- Still get the "No Radio Playback error) Very frustrating. (windows mobile flashbacks)

Obviously their are issues with Nokia Internet Radio and the E71. In my case the E71-2. After getting the error -"Failed radio playback" with each version I finally am getting somewhere. With the tip of trying the N82 version I loaded this but also kept getting the same error. I got **bleep** off and kept reloading and reloading then something happened. The buffer did not zip right through and give me the error. Instead it went slowly and then it played! I tried other stations and got mixed results. In each case I kept reloading and it works.. For how long I dont know. Very unreliable.

please do note that Nokia Internet Radio is still Beta, hence not yet a final release...

if you want an alternative you can try mobbler.

its a Last.FM client for S60 and its a full pledge streaming client

There is now an E71 specific download available on the Nokia website - I have yet to try it though.

Cool, I have been using the version for the N82. Only certain stations would work for some reason!

where did you find the download? I checked the link (nokia website) but I do not see it? Do I need to be at my home computer with (PC suite)in order to download?

Yes you need PC. I downloaded it to my PC and sent the file using bluetooth to E71 (have linux on the laptop).

Worked on my E71 only after I installed in internal memory, not in sd card.
Also i have tried www.spodtronic.com radio and I think spodtronic is much better. Alsi its free.
