The way to button-press Hard Reset your E72 is the SAME as the N97.
Hold these buttons:
- Capslock
- Space
- Backspace
and Press the power on. As usual, keep the buttons pressed and voila!
Found it out by trial and error when the * + 3 + Call didnt work.

Will this 3-button hard reset also affect (format) the memory card (E
or only the built-in phone memory (C
only?

Can someone please verify if this method works?

Confirmed that this method works. I just did it early today.
And no, it does NOT format your memory card (E:\), just phone memory (C:\).

hi..if i would perform hard reset on nokia e72....will the firmware version be affected? i have upgraded it to latest firmware...will this be erased as well?

Just tested this, as I got the infamous mailbox bug, coupled with constant wifi scanning.
The method listed here works perfectly, and no, it does not affect the firmware version.
It also seems that all my applications installed on the memory card were INTACT, which is about the only positive point I can think of.

Switch your phone off.
Then, lay it down on a flat surface
With 3 finger of one hand, keep pressed shift, space bar and back space all at the same time
With one finger of the other hand, press the power on button
Do not release neither the 3 keys nor the power key till you see the nokia shakehands animation
That's all

This is amazing!!!! it definitely works. i got this stupid bug....i duno how....can someone explain to me why this happens? my phone memory kept filling up...and i couldn't fix it. so i took out my memory card before I did the hard reset. The only way to fix it was this....I just hard reset my phone and I checked my phone memory...it showed 64kb sometimes or 60mb as free memory..kept changing. after hard reset it now shows 240mb. so i think it worked. lets hope i dont get this bug again.
