Hi,
I installed the OVI Store application on my E71 but I can't make it use Wifi instead of Mobile Data. In Australia mobile data costs a small fortune. Does anyone know how to make the app use Wifi?
Thanks

Hi, this did not work, it still tries to connect via an internet connection.
How do I make my Wifi connection the default connection of my phone, which apps such as the ovi store will automatically connect to.

Did you try to proposal from Chigzino?
That was also my solution on my E71, and that did help.
Setting to WLAN as default seems to fail.... maybe the phone simply forgets the WLAN once the WLAN is not available any more. But switching to "always ask" works, i am now asked when a connection is established.... and if i am in the area of my wlan i can select it.

1.
Start a WiFi connection.
2. Open your web browser. Type in www.ovistore.com.
3. Carry on.
I had the same problem with mine. My operator here in Norway has actually configured it so that when you go to the Ovi Store through the phone menu you can only access it via WAP. Very $$ convenient for them.

This one solved my problem! Good hint!

I'm not sure if this will help, but on my E90 by changing the default internet connection (for web browsing) to "always ask" and then opening Ovi Store, it now lets me choose the access point.

Guys, I use both E72 and iphone.. and I can tell u why Nokia is loosing market... they are making simple tasks soo complicated that you wil never understand that. It took me almost 5 months to find out why my E72 is not connecting to my wifi, but using my costly data package....
If you are hearing Nokia... change.. or else u will vanish from the market!!!

To clarify, this is the same trouble I've been having on my Nokia e63, can't use WiFi to access the OVI store and the phone defaults to using the (expensive) Vodafone data connection and doesn't give the option to use WiFi.
Anyway... same procedure as above... and I recommend experimenting with the sim card taken OUT so you can confirm it works and don't get caught paying expensive data charges or go into offline mode( use menu in the power on/off button).
1. Click on menu
2. Click on Web
3. Click on Options
4. Click on Settings
5. Click on General
6. Click on Access Point
7. Select Always Ask
Now when you click on OVI Store it should give you the option to select WiFi (if available) or regular mobile data. Click on Wifi acess point of course!
