i've just got the e52 about a month ago. i've just recently had this problem with low phone memory. the error message reads:low memory. please transfer some files from C: phone memory
the phone is supposed to have 60MB worth of internal memory but when i check my phone memory, only 300+kB is free. i haven't installed anything onto the phone memory, it's all on my SD. my contacts and messages don't take up much space as well, less than 1MB. furthermore, i can't find anything that can be transfered from my phone memory onto my SD.
this is annoying me as i don't even have enough space on my phone to back up my stuff onto the computer.

thanks, it does free up a few MB. good enough for the moment.
however, when i check memory status, there's still around 30MB that's being used by 'other applications' of which i'm not sure how to free up.

Dear User52
Currently I am using E52 and this is the worst phone I have ever used because it fails to serve me a basic phone's function-VOICE. Other performance like data transfer, GPS and so on.... are superb. Only the voice quality is bad.
However your mentioned problem LOW MEMORY is not new to me. I faced this problem in my N73.
First take a backup of your phone book, SMS, calender entry that are held in phone memory. Then format your phone using the code *#7370#.
This will erase all your phone memory data and I think this will solve your problem. After that you should carefull using your browser because this may be a virus that comes while you browsing any untrusted websites.
Dont you face any problem in voice quality in E52????

thanks for the reply. i tried the service command but it says 'request not completed'.
and yes, i do face problems with voice. sometimes when i make a call, my voice breaks up on the recieving end, even when both parties are in a quiet environment. i don't have this problem with the previous nokia phones i have had.

my phone memory spontaeously returned. i faced some problems with my email so i deleted the email account i had previously set up, then set up a new account from scratch. after that, the memory low notification stopped appearing and when i check the memory status, suddenly half of my memory is free again. strange phenomena, but it solves my memory problem.

I had a similar problem .. only a couple of days old and only had 27MB left. Not many apps installed and no music etc on the phone.
Anyhow when loking with x-plore looks like C:\ has 27MB free from 61.6
D:\ was 36.3 MB free from 36.3
and E:\ (The micro-SD) 542MB of 941 free
Puzzled what D:\ was .. presumably some kind of ramdisk that's been allocated as part of an install.. anyhow I had to backup the phone, then hard reset..
hold down *, 3 and the call button, then press down the power on/off until the phone resets.
This reformatted the phone.
Restore from backup.... and hey presto I'm back with ~45MB free again on the phone.
Hope this helps others.

I am not able to restore using *#7370# .. after using this code , my E52 is asking a lock code? I donno if i have ever used any code.

The default code is 12345. If this does not work, you need to reach out to your local care point to decode the device to set it back to its default lock code.
