Hey Guys

Now i hv updated my firmware to 410 and wen i try updating nokia maps to version 3 it shows some error stating "phone information not available"
Also wen im trying to install other .sis files its giving error "File corrupted" .. although i hv used d same softwares previously.

Using AV on a Symbian phone is a waist of time and space. It's not recommendable. You can always reset the phone. Just don't install software from untrusted websites. But, if you really want, use OVI store to look for AV apps.

hi...
tnks for quick rply.....
why is it waste of time to install AV in E63......
doesnt it needs AV..........
than what to do in case of virus........?

Symbian OS is not sensitive to viruses. AV Sales arguments are used to make you scared so you buy their products. Don't install software from dubious websites as I wrote earlier.

Hi.....
what is the reason for not supporting .sis file in Symbian phones..........
Although when i purchase E63, dealer told me that it will support all software........
there are many softwares which hve .sis files..........n is important.......
what to do for those Saftwares...........???????

The E63 is a Symbian S60 3rd FP1 device that supports installation of sis apps. Sis files must be signed and checked by Symbian to make sure that the software is genuine and virus free. Other supported software you can install are Java (jar) apps. These jar files are not always checked and therefor potentially dangerous when downloaded and installed from untrusted websites.
