Hi everybody,
I was looking forward for the release of Navteq maps in 2012/Q1, however, this release is still showing the out of date data of the former version. I reported four improvements more than three months ago to Navteq using map reporter. The 2011/Q3 release of TeleAtlas maps (TomTom and Sygic) are up to date. I live in the Netherlands in the province of North Holland. I checked Google maps also for the region I'm living and their map is out of date too. I mailed to Nokia Care and expressed my concern about the reliability of Nokia maps a month ago, but until now no reply. What is your experience in regard to the reliability of Nokia maps of the region you're living? I'm not complaining about peanuts, but about considerable changes including new roads and roundabouts. Cheers.

Well, I live near Boston (USA), and a long-running highway/road construction project in Boston was finally completed a few years ago. Until just last year, the Nokia maps became hopelessly confused when I had to drive in downtown Boston. In general, the maps seem to be accurate, even down to in which lane I should be traveling for turns, etc. However, I always review the review the route first, just to make sure that it isn't really nonsensical. In maps 3.01, I use the navigational route overview, then I stop the navigation and zoom out on the map to make sure the route looks right that way as well. Then, I restart the navigation and things seem to go OK. BTW, I also have used a Garmin Nuvi GPS, and I have found some strange anomalies there as well. When it comes down to it, you really are better off not relying on these devices 100%. They can be very convenient, though!

Still no Afghanistan's map.
When it will be available?
When will Nokia work on it?

I downloaded the specified map and index files and followed the guide posted here.
After I restart Ovi Maps it still asks me to download the required map files, even though the storage is set to MicroSD and the files are unzipped in the specified folders.
Any advice would be most welcome!
Thanks in advance.

Whilst you may have issues with Nokia/Ovi Suite for what reason is Maploader within Nokia Maps v3.08 upon your C7-00 not adequate for downloading aditonal mapping via WLAN access point?

Thanks aspergerguy,
I have a feeling that the servers are flaky? I've watched the throughput on the router, and it spikes for a minute or two when the map download starts (either from Map loader on the phone, or through Ovi suite), before dropping to zero and spiking again. Its like the software can't hold a consistent link. Using the download links for the maps (kindly provided above), I can get a consistent 4Mb/s. It should not take me a few minutes to download 6Mb before the server disconnects.
I managed to get Maps up and running on the C7-00 after a restart. The map section in Nokia Suite still has problems recognising that they are installed. However this is less of an issue now that the maps are finally working on the phone again!
Thanks for your support aspergerguy - its an awesome service!
I may have to invest in a new Nokia WP7 if all this doesn't pan out!

That is one small disadvantage of installing map data manually in that it does not register in index that specified regional data is installed although perfectly functional.
Nokia Lumia devices totally dependent upon downloading map data via Nokia Drive or Nokia Maps applications themselves with no possibility of manual installation.

There isn't one for "01" map data as no ability to read catalogue upon device until using v3.06 & later.
