I have tried it with N8 phone and works fine with Win XP for me (as did the Beta ExtGPS bluetooth only release).
Also works fine for me with Win 7 64 bit using USB but doesn't seem to want to work for me with bluetooth with that OS, the ExtGPS service not appearing under the device (the Beta didn't either) - however, I have only had a quick try so maybe with a bit of effort I will resolve that, but suspect not.
Great that you got it going via USB! Going by my experiences I'm not too hopeful that you'll get it working on Win 7 64-bit either 
. In case it's any use to you, here's a summary of what I experienced with Bluetooth on the N8:
- I've been unable to connect my applications directly to the ExtGPS service - they don't see it. I've had to create a virtual COM port with the computer's Bluetooth software and connect the applications to that instead.
- Creating a virtual COM port has so far only worked on Win XP with Broadcom 5.5, because that detects and enumerates the ExtGPS service
- Win XP with Broadcom/WIDCOMM 6.x fails to detect the ExtGPS service
- Win XP with MS BT fails to detect the ExtGPS service
- Win 7 32-bit with MS BT stack and WIDCOMM 6.x co-installed drivers fails to detect the ExtGPS service
- None of the above problems exist with ExtGPS on the E52!
