Hi, 

I have problem with application maps updater... after update the firmware in my cell phone to 202.12.01 I can't install maps application

I have error :

Error Cannot get enough information about the phone[3]

"Unspecified error [1]"

I've tried this multiple times and still no progress....

Help please???

I have an N85 (still waiting patiently for free navigation)

I had to hard reset my phone because whilst browsing the OVI store on my N85 it offered me maps 3.03 with free navigation! I was very happy! so i chose to download and install it. this killed the nokia maps app. anyways after hard reset all my apps reinstalled happily. EXCEPT for Ovi maps.

Nokia mapupdater tells me....Cannot get enough information about phone (3). Internal error (1) This has happened for nearly a week. Ive tried every fix i know. Installed nokia maps on 1 xp machine and 2 vistas. same result each time. Am somewhat happy to know im not the only one! will return regularly to hear  solution from nokia support guru.

Just wanted to add, I've tried on Windows xp and vista 32 bit, and on windows 7 64bit.

With administrator permission

"Cannot getenough information about the phone [3]

Unspecified error (1)."

Same Error (Updater Error Cannot get enough information about thephone[3]. Unspecified Error (1)) for my Nokia N85! Soft & Hard Reset didn't change anything.

This really sucks... after finding out that the n85 is not supported yet on the free nav then this error... same thing happen to with the OVI store and then now after 3 tries I thought I messed up my phone... **bleep**... lost all my apps... well hopefully they are updating to the free OVI maps...

I am also having the same problem. I upgraded the firmware in my nokia 6220 classic from 3.23 to 5.15 yesterday. Now when I load Nokia Maps Updater I get exactly the same error. Let me know when there is a fix.

Same error on N95 - have latest software on phone but won't recognise it with maps updater.

Now don't have mapping on my phone which is a bit of a pain - any news?

Thank you very much that actually helped, but took about an hour to get around how to get on my phone all. It works on my Nokia N82 with the **bleep** man's voice hahaha

P.S. Yesterday I was struggling with the same problems as all other people commented here.

damn forgot to add something. After all I done on my nokia N82 I got 90 day trial, so it's not really free forever?!?!?!?

Thanks OviKovi. My maps 3.01 is working now. The only issue I have is that when I go to synchronise my favorites with Ovi Maps Online my phone maps exits back to standby screen. I noticed that the favorites I setup while I had Nokia Maps 2 installed are still there. Could they be clashing with the synchronise feature of Ovi Maps 3?
