I was lucky, just used Ovi Store on my N8 and installed Nokia Maps from Ovi store and I have working maps (no removal of previous version was required)

I've just rolled back the Maps app with Nokia Store, and despite leaving behind three useless apps, which may be sorted in a future (better) update, it works like a dream once again!

If only I'd known this sooner - it'd given me a longer night in bed!

Just go to the Nokia store on your phone, or the ovi store online, and download and reinstall a previous version.

I already did that from my phone, the reinstall spent only few seconds and as soon as click on map application the message error appear again!!!!

With this kind of solid updates  from Nokia it's no wonder that they are run over...

But I guess I should say thank you Nokia for giving me one last reason to give you and your **bleep** support the finger, just completed an order for 4 new iPhones to the family, all Nokias are now officially banned in our household!

SOLVED - Do the follwing steps:
1 - connect your phone to the PC and start Nokia Suite(Last Version).
2 - go to MAP icon and click on it, you will find green mark it means that
already installed, ignore this mark and click on download icon (you
will find mobile icon beside it).
3 - in the screen wich will appear chose the right choice (Download on PC).
then will load and will turn into Nokia Suite (It will take time to
install).
4 - after instlation complete follow the instruction which will apperar on
your phone. AND CONGRATULATION.

i don't have even a quarter of them installed, but i deleted all i found, tried to install
nokia_maps_installer_3.08_11wk27_b01_TB9.2_NOCS_BETA.sis
but the same error message during installation appears as before, "oops, no space on drive c"

i have about 25MB free, isn't that enough?

SOLUTION !!!
Here is the solution again (short version):

1. Download and install an old built of Nokia maps 3.08 from here (full install):

2.Once you have installed the old version, start Maps again. It should work the way it used to.

4. Now, download and install the officially available Nokia Maps 3.08 latest beta for Symbian Anna from here (This is an online installer):

Last info : a friend just said me some cupple of minutes ago that there is a correctif available via NOKIA Suite and that after doing this Maps works well.

I will try on the C6-01 of my wif when she will return at home...

Yes, please test the installation of Maps 3.08 again, there is now a corrected version available which should fix the installation issues.

I downloaded it through the Nokia Suite on my PC. You should check the 'Software updates' menu, and it should list the Nokia Maps update.

Still no luck for me, got maps 3.8 update via sw update on the phone, after downloading and installing process it said 'update failed'. Tried few times still the same. Looks like I've to sit for some time and check online for other fixes. Regretting why did I update an application which I don't use that often now ended up without having it on my phone altogether.

Lauch Nokia Suite. Select software update icon (system says no updates available). Select refresh on your device software & a prompt will tell you that an application update is available.

This worked for me and fixed maps & drive.

Got it working by uninstalling opeservice, OPML service and one more which I couldn't recollect the name. Installed maps again and it started fine without any error.

If anyone still having issues after installing fix released today report here. I'm going to mark pj98's reply(post 72) as solution. I'm hoping this has fixed maps problem completely and phones are running latest 3.8v.

Maps 3.8 is working fine for me now on an E6 after installing the revised 3.8 update (through Nokia suite).
