I have refreshed software update on Nokia Suite but still not receiving any update. I've been trying this since about 4pm today.

This update is just terrible.  Truly half-baked like most anything Nokia does.  I am going on the 5th hour trying to fix my navi.  I received a prompt to update to 3.08 in SW Updater.  Hated the new version. In landscape mode (how I use it) black info bars take too much space and the map is too small.  Also hated that what used to be one icon that grouped Maps and Drive (plus other bloatware junk like weather and expedia)  now became several icons.  Wanted to revert to 3.06.  Downloaded from Ovi, installed.  Everything is fine but I cannot get rif of Drive, Guide and Weather.  They are not listed in installe apps.  Tried reinstalling 3.08 beta from Nokia Labs hoping that Guides and Weather will become visible in the app manager, but no luck.  Deleted all 3.08 except Guide, Weather, and Drive, reinstalled 3.06. Seems find except three icons/apps I do not want, but Nokia forced into my phone and did not provide a way to remove.  I am dreading having to call their tech support.  They do not know anything and take forever to get back.  I have a ticket with them since Oct 27 and no resolution.  I am  pretty much done with Nokia.

I agree that Maps 3.8 presents itself as a much less integrated application than before.

If this fractured component part approach is the future, then it would also be good to be able to remove the useless separate components you don't want. eg. guides, to help keep things tidy and organised.

I also agree that the black "information" bar along the left of the screen when in drive navigation takes up far too much space. It's a quarter of the screen width on my E6! and was probably the big **bleep** is that? first impression that hit me when I tried maps 3.8

Still no update to fix this problem for C7.

The solved solution posted is to download from a hosting site rather than a fix from Nokia

Just found a solution on Beta labs.

If your go to Nokia Store on the Internet you can download Map (3.06) and install it through your Nokia Suite.

I think I'll leave installing the 3.08 version until I know it won't brick the navigation.

Map 3.06 is now working on my C7

i didn't tried the corrupted package but in the new package it was available as remember a 14 MB one, i click on update, failed and converted to 9.2 kb available only! and also failed!!!!!, i had the latest Beta version so what is the problem now!!!!!

After having spent most of the evening downgrading my E6-00 from Belle to Anna 25.7 (an ordeal), my heart sank to an unhealthy level when I tried to start Maps and got the message "Not supported" ("Maps stöds inte på enheten" in swedish ;-)

However, installing nokia_maps_installer_3.08_11wk27_b01_TB9.2_NOCS_BETA.sis and nokia_maps_smartinstaller_3.08_11wk34_b01_TB9.2_NOCS_BETA.sis from the RAR file made the trick. I'm so happy. I don't know how to thank you.
