I'm using a N97 with V 21.0.045 firmware. According to what advertised, I should have free lifetime navigation. Now it says that my license has expired. What should I do?

This means you are still on V3.01 which is not free version. You can update to the free version by using the Software Update application directky from your phone. Your phone need to go online to complete the upgrade process so make sure you are within range of your access point or you can also use packet data if you have a data package.

After installing the new version, delete the Cities folder and qf file from the mass storage using the file manager and then re-download the latest map data using Ovi Suite.

If it's saying expired you are using the old version of maps along with the free trial license, not the newer free version.

Download the latest version from:
http://maps.nokia.com/ovi-services-and-apps/ovi-maps

After installation you will never see a request for a license again.

For N97, the file is not provided in http://maps.nokia.com/ovi-services-and-apps/ovi-maps. I am asked to update my firmware to the latest version. I am already using the latest firmware V21. So, should I reinstall my firmware?

You don't need to reinstall the firmware. Just click the ok button and it tells you how to get it.
