How do I send my coordinates if I'm on a forest road or off road and my bike is broken, I can see the coordinates when I press on the map and select "show details" but when I choose "send text" is only referred to the Ovi maps, and no coordinates are sent, so I can not get any help from a taxi or friend with a gps
-.C6-01 - Symbian belle - nokia maps 3.09
in my search for a solution, I have been seen on the internet, that Nokia Beta Lap has been working with it for some years ago. So I have hoped for a setting option in Nokia maps
With transition from S60 5th Ed. to Symbian S^3 something got broken, so Landmarks application disappeared:http://www.developer.nokia.com/Community/Wiki/KIS0
You can however send "Landmarks" using http://store.ovi.com/content/42842
To return to what I was about to say
it is sad that Nokia is not listening to the users who repeatedly for several years, have wanted the ability to send their position as coordinates from the map when they needing assistance.
Nokia when will the map be updated with this option.??
Instead of being frustrated about what Nokia Maps does not do, try a positive approach and install the location2sms app from the Nokia Store. It does emails too, sending the street address when available, the raw coordinates, and a link to a Google Maps preview of the area.
It is small and fast and works reliably on my N8 Belle Refresh.
I don't understand. I have Maps 3.09 as well (on an 808)
When I find a place which is recognised by its gps coordinates (as opposed to an address), when I long press the location (top bar), and choose "share/by message", the SMS contains a link AND the gps coordinates.
it does not work for me, there is only http://m.ovi.me/B .... and addr if there is one. but no add in the woods, and there are no coordinates.
Actually, I'm really happy for my C6-01 symbian it can the most part. But I had just carried my broken bike 5 km because the taxi could not come without coordinates or add.
. and alarm 112 in my country have made an app to get precise add. but not for Symbian. so I was annoyed with the lack of coordinates.
Thank you all for your links to programs.
I have chosen viewranger http://store.ovi.com/search?q=viewranger
