How to check version of maps of Nokia Navigation 2.0 (Lumia)?

[ Edited ]

Hello Community,

unfortunately they cancelled the german Discussions Community, so I try my luck here even if my English is not so fine.

I installed Nokia Navigation 2.0 with some maps on my Lumia phone. But how can I find out the version of the installed maps? And how can I check the actual existing version of the maps on the Nokia server?

Best regards!

Strange, I am a little disappointed. Is there no way?

@JohnPijl

Unfortunately compared to Symbian devices you have now entered the Windows "nanny state" ,where there is no user access to "Mass memory" and you just have to accept updates as and when offered.

Unfortunately you cannot currently see which map data version is installed in your Lumia phone. If you have loaded your maps after around mid-May, you should have got the latest map data version 0.2.46.103. If the maps have been loaded before that, you probably have the older map data version still in use. You can then get the latest map data by reinstalling Nokia Drive as instructed in the FAQ below:

How can I update map data for Nokia Drive in my Nokia Lumia phone?

Starting from Nokia Drive 3.0 you can see also the currently installed map data version in the About menu.

Re: How to check version of maps of Nokia Navigation 2.0 (Lumia)?

I'm running Nokia Drive 3.0 on my Lumia 800 and think its a great app. However, the one thing that irks me is that it does not inform me when the maps are updated.

I shouldn't have to uninstall the app then reinstall and then download the map. I've used several other navigation apps (Co-pilot and Tom-Tom)  which tells you everytime you start them that updates are available.

I can't even find anything on the Nokia site to actually tell me what the current version of the maps are.

From what I can see on my phone, I've got map version 0.2.45.110.

I've even deleted all maps from my device and reloaded UK one only to find it still displaying the same map version number even though its been over six months when I downloaded the map that I had just deleted. So are Nokia updating the maps every 3 months?

Questions to Nokia

1) When will you combine Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps into one app.

2) When will Nokia Drive inform me that map updates are available.

Re: How to check version of maps of Nokia Navigation 2.0 (Lumia)?

Map updates could be quarterly, biannually or annually depending on where you are in the world but generally twice a year from previous experience.

Drive and Maps will probably not be recombined considering it was only recently that they were split. The idea of the split is to make it quicker to use Drive if all you want is to do a quick navigation. Whereas Maps if more for browsing the map. If they were recombined, it would be very similar to just using Maps now and selecting navigation from there.
