Hi Experts,

        I have a problem with the map. Whenever i try to search a place in it,  it goes off and comes back to the home screen. Also m not able to install Google maps for an alternate.

 Please suggest wht to do.

hi mate,

have you tried uninstalling then re-installing the Nokia Maps and associated maps files from the Application Manager. you can download the Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 in the Nokia Store on your device,which will start the re-installation of Maps and other core apps.

Hey Hi,

         Thanks for the revert...

  The maps version is 00.02.47.103, and i have tried to uninstalling the maps and re-installed it today itsself but unfurtunatelly the problem still presists... please suggest me what to do as i am not able to use maps.

 Nither is the google maps working .

this may point to a deeper issue with the phone. have you checked via Nokia Suite if there are any firmware updates available for your phone? if there are any, please update to the latest version offered. Failing that, you can try re-installing your current firmware thru nokia Suite.

If considering re-installing existing device software via Nokia Suite, I might suggest that after backing up essential data you reset your C6-00 to factory settings, so that Nokia Maps sets itself up from scratch and ensures that Assisted GPS positioning method establishes it's network access point.

my suggestion: chuck the phone in a river. I took my c6-00 (with same and additional problems) to 4 different Nokia service centres and none of them could fix the issue. Not even reinstalling the OS made a difference, I even installed larger external memory.... I now use a different phone.
