Thank you all for posting the update and thank you Nokia for providing it. It feels good, that Nokia doesn't leave customers alone with old maps, even 2 years after buying my C7. So Nokia seems to keep their promise to provide map-updates for the lifetime of the phone...I don't believe that it will be provided forever, but 3-4 more years with updates would be very nice.

Good news about the updated maps (16GB). I downloaded them and got four folders but I think I need the Index files for each area. It's the first time I've tried manual update. Anybody have a link for America, Europe, Africa and Asia?
I got Europe and Asia but not America or Africa - 404 - not allowed.

Well the phone didn't recognise any new maps. Looking at the 'old' cities folder, maybe needs a 'MapLoader' folder full of 00.02.47.103 xml files?
Edit; Gave up, used Nokia suite to download and install all updated maps. Can't see any difference in detail locally here.
& now quitting the maps app still keeps a network connection either WiFi or 3G open draining the battery, wish I'd left it as it was. ![]()
