I have a China branded N9 with PR 1.3.
Last week I was able to update my maps directly from my phone.
Map version 4.2.55; map data is 0.2.45.12 (release data is 23 Oct 2012).
I read that the latest version is 0.2.46.103.
Does this mean that I got a downgrade? (According to my N9 and Nokia Suite, my maps are up to date).
Regards,

Your N9 can use data from 00.02.46.103 as in this screenshot. You would be advised to utilise Manage Maps > tap three horizontal bar icon at bottom right of screen > Check for updates, rather than Nokia Suite which produces unpredictable results with N9:

Hi Aspergerguy,
I did get the update through 'Manage maps, check for updates, ...
Now I have map version 02.45 and my phone says that my maps are up to date...
Is there another way to upgrade my maps to 02.46 version?
Also, after the upgrade (to 02.45), I got 1GB extra storage on my phone...

No problem, adrianhughes...

I am also on 2.46. I know map data may not be updated at the same frequency for every country. Perhaps the region you are in is still on 2.45. Can't think of any other reason you were allowed to update but only to 2.45.

Map data folder structure remains the same as upon Symbian devices with data in (16) folders 0 - 9 and a- f so it is possible to manually download compressed .zip and place in cities/diskcache following proccedure outlined by ovikovi HERE upon Symbian devices.
Whilst this worked for me being familiar with it as essentially a Mac user, others have run into difficulties and it also has the disadvantage that although latest map data can be utilised you won't get it listed with a nice green tick beside the countries by this method; consequently I would hate to stop anyone's map application from working.

Sounds possible... maybe I will try to update my maps when I travel in another country?...

Sure you can. But only try it when and where you have a good wifi connection. Some public wifis can be problematic for downloading large files.

Last week, I was in Europe, using a local sim-card.
Still no signs of map upgrades, so I am still using version 45...
On the other hand, with the local sim-card, I was able to access to the local Ovi-store with much more apps than the Ovi-store for China... ![]()

You can always delete your old maps and redownload from scratch and see if that forces the update.

There's another maps update for Symbian - v2.49.104 - according to http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/flow/item/17025_Nok
Since we've gone a few maps updates without the N9 getting updated maps, officially, does that mean we're not going to see these updated maps on the N9 at all?
Dissapointing if so Nokia.

I have updated my N9 to version 2.49.104, so I think the update applies to N9 too.

Sorry for any errors, translated through the site
if no updates to the phone or Nokia suite then just delete the mydocs, cities folder then go into the Maps application, and then connect your phone to your computer and download the maps you need zanogo and you together with maps loaded the new update
