Ok, let me start by saying I like Nokia Drive, I like the simplified interface and the usage of some windows phone features such as deep linking to a destination from a tile.
I'm also not going to ask for TTS for street names, I'm pretty sure you get asked about it a lot and maybe with WP8's built in TTS you can easily add that.
There are some things in Drive 3.0 that don't make a lot of sense.
The My Commute feature is great, I like how it automatically learns my driving schedule and adds new locations to my commute lists, but I need to be able to control that. I need to be able to delete a location from that list or add locations manually.
It would also be great if this feature supported multiple points for people who carpool and always need to pick up others,
Also, if I try to start a commute after driving 2 minutes from my house I get a 'no commutes from here' message. I'm still going to the same place and am actually on the same road already, and it still can't be used.
If I go off course for any reason while in my commute, it doesn't recalculate my route. That sounds like some product manager argued that it's not needed because it's your daily commute and you know where you're going, but that's not always the case (if I have a 1 hour commute and decide to get off the jammed highway, I need the route to recalc)
This is disabling a feature that's already available and is pretty standard in any GPS. There's no reason not to recalculate, even if I do know where I'm going and you should record a new route, showing me the route you think I should take won't hurt and really should always be there.
Now, bringing up disabled features brings me to the biggest problem. If I'm not using my commute because I'm not driving to/from work, traffic data is ignored. That doesn't make a lot of sense because just like recalculation, it's a feature you already have (and the bing maps uses the Nokia data to show me this traffic info). I would say when I don't know the way somewhere, traffic data is even more useful. I know which highways get jammed on the way to work/home but going someplace new, I have no clue about which route I should take.
Another small but important missing feature is the ability to avoid toll roads or highways should always be an option (and probably easy enough to implement). My mom hates the highways here and won't drive on them, that means she can't use Nokia Drive at all.
Nokia Drive for Windows Phone has come a long way in a short time, I hope you can implement these fixes, as a WP developer I think it shouldn't be a big effort but the change in usability will be huge
Thanks
EShy
