Nokia Drive on Lumia 920 GPS doesn't show the right location (US)

In the nearly ten times I've tried the Nokia Drive app, about 70% of the time, the GPS tells me that I am either staying still (the little arrow looks to be stuttering) or in the completely wrong area. 

 

Here are the options I have set on the device:

  • Connection: online
  • Battery saver: on
  • Location: on
  • Navigation license: global

It's been performing so terribly that I've had to purchase a third-party option (Navigon) in order to get a working navigation option.

 

Am I doing something wrong?  I purchased the Lumia over the 8X chiefly due to the included GPS option, but at this juncture, it looks like I may have made the wrong choice.
