With the availability of "Update" facility in latest versions of OVI Maps v3.06 these direct download links are probably only of relevance if you say have 5230 (without WLAN) running version from Nokia Beta Labs:

Thanks for these - I do have a 5230, so its a big help. Questions - do these links include the Index files for each region (required in Maps v3.04 for searching addresses & Points Of Interest offline)? And where can one get the "voice" files for navigation?

There are links to ClientIndex file and Voice navigation files in above thread.

If you want direct download link for a specific country/region/state rather than continent, post your request and I'll try to deal with it.

Thanks - I've seen that thread, and its excellent. However, it starts with links to Nokia Ovi Maps (v0.1.25.114), for Ovi Maps 3.04, and usefully has links for the Maps, the Index files and the Voice files. Later in the thread there are links for Maps v0.02.41.123, for Ovi Maps v3.06. But I can't find links for the Index files or Voice files for this version - unless the files are the same as for the earlier version? Perhaps I've misunderstood which files are needed. Another quick question, do the whole continent map downloads carry the same maps as each individual country download? I assume that this is the case. I appreciate your help - your comments and links in this and other threads are really useful

Sorry for not explaining that there is only one link for ClientIndex and Voice files irrespective of map version. I can't remember offhand if link for newer voice file English with Street Names is listed there (you still need basic English voice file in addition to TTS (text to speech file).

With regards to query about country/continent map it is the same with one proviso, sometimes Nokia's sense of geography is a little strange in that island(s) are sometimes not included within country you might expect so that will be there if whole continent downloaded if that makes sense.

Finally two points to bear in mind (1) that if you download maps directly like this they will not be recorded if you check with OVI Suite > Maps with say a view to deleting at later date and (2) if you want to utilise "Safety spots" you would have to also add 1.0.0/37.europe.cdt to E:\CITIES\diskcache\safetyspots

May I ask which device you have as very few users now need to circumvent Nokia's approved methods of downloading regional mapping?

@aspergerguy i'm using an aging 5800xm~ been using ovi maps 3.03/04 for the past 1 year~ never get around to upgrade to 3.06 yet~ planning to buy new sdcard and load it with maps for the whole world if possible~ so wanna know how big an sdcard i should get~

For v3.04 using 0.1.25.114 World maps + Client index about 7GB

For v3.06 using 0.2.42.122 World maps + Client Index about 8.7GB

If you want room for any other media you are going to need a 16GB microSDHC!

the 481. zip file for america in post#1 appears to be bad -- at least my winzip keeping saying it is.   The other zips are ok.  Where possible would you point me to one containing US and Canada?

My apologies in advance if any errors but can't get to cross check country file download sizes today, but as USA just over 1GB it seems correct.

Unfortunately I can't explain why issues with winzip but had no issues decompressing and merging all five continents upon Mac which I primarily use!
