I just switched over to the Nokia 920 from a Droid Charge Samsung.  I used the google maps heavily to help me do the following.

1.)  find a place by typing in company name and city.  Google could find location and if I misspelled it, it would ask me if I meant the following and provide me a list.

2.) Once selected, I then get the ability to share, call place or navigate.  I used this heavily since I am in field sales and could use it to find the location using google maps. 

I don't get the same ability using the nokia maps or nokia drive.  Is this not possible with these applications?  If I were Nokia, I would merge the Nokia Maps with the Nokia drive so that Navigation can be used.  I know Nokia Maps has drive instructions but it is not the same as an actual navigator that can show you were you are going and tell you when to turn while the map is adjusting itself to show you when to turn etc. 

If anyone has suggestions on whether this can be done and I need to change settings etc, that would be great. 

I'd like to post this to Nokia software team but don't know where to do it :-) so doing it here.

Sounds like you may not yet have the latest update for Maps and Drive which connects the two apps allowing you to select the destination from Maps and navigate to it using Drive. 

Goto to Marketplace and see if updates are available for download.

Thanks,  Yes I have the latest updates did notice that you can now link the nokia maps to drive for navigation.  Still not easy to locate companies when typing  name and city.  I just tried it using   "name and city" and it pulls up anything with the companies or places that have the name and city I've typed in.  Where can I add a suggestion so that it's easier to find places when typing it along with location?

I suppose you could send you suggestions to Nokia using the "nokia support" tab to the bottom right of this screen.

Odd.  You should be able to just type in the name of the company, city and state in the map search and it should then plot it on the map for you (I've done that a few times but the ones I've tried are pretty unique businesses and not like chain stores, etc so not sure how well those works).  Once on the map, you can either hold on the address or select search results.  From there, clicking on to the specific entry should then pull up more information about that business such as address, phone number, and drive.  clicking on drive would then pull up Drive+ for me there.

I just noticed that if I use the map located in the local scout application and when I search for specific company and location, the map works and takes me to the right place.  When I click on location, then it brings me to the page where I can see information about the location, phone number, etc.  I can then select drive from there and it will allow me to use navigation drive.  This is odd since I assume this is using Nokia Maps.  It appears that who ever designed this application may not be the same group that developed Nokia Maps.  For now, I'll use this as my maps since it seems to work but for future, I hope Nokia can merge all maps/navigation into one application as technology is there just needs slight improvements :-).

Thanks, i've found temporary work around for now using the map system located in the local scout application. Will provide suggestion to Nokia. There close and hope this will be fixed in firmware :-).

Local scout does not use Nokia Maps. It actually uses Bing Maps which is embedded in WP8 by Microsoft. I suppose you do have the option of using either.

Ok,  that makes sense.  I do notice that this map will still link to the Nokia drive for navigation.  I guess I found my solution for now.  Thanks for helping out.  hopefully this thread helps others that are switching over from Google phones :-).
