I have read a few months ago that Israel already has been mapped by Navteq so why the maps aren't available?
When we here in Israel could finally use Nokia Maps??

@ChrisOh1
No word on it but ironic when last NAVTEQ Developer Day held in Tel Aviv:http://nn4d.blogspot.com/2011/05/navteq-developer-

Does anyone have any info on Israeli maps for Nokia Ovi? I've been trying to ask around about it, but Nokia representative asked me to ask Navteq. Bet they'll tell me the same thing, afterall they are only customer support with no real knowledge about anything...
Anyway in navteq.com you can see a really nice and detailed map of Israel (also of Golan and I think West Bank, so also the "politically sensitive" areas are covered so that no one should be **bleep**) , so since navteq has already published their detailed map of Israel, why the heck cant Nokia bring it into their Ovi maps? Seriously?

Well, I was positively surprised, in the way that I actually got quite an informative answer from Navteq:
Thank you for contacting NAVTEQ Maps.
Unfortunately at this stage we do not have a precise release date available for the Israel map.
We do apologize for the inconvenience.
Should you require additional information, please send us your feedback by replying to this email.
With kind regards,

But still no info whatsoever on when Israel would be available for Nokia maps.

Last week at the Microsoft BUILD conference Nokia gave out over 3000 Nokia 920 phones to developers. they encouraged us to write spps for the phone. when i tried to download the map of Israel for an app I have in mind, I could not find the map anywhere. I was able to find every other country i looked for.
I hope someone from Nokia or Microsoft will be able to address this issue.
