That is Europe(whole continent) for Maps application 3.x ( I've 3.04)

That zip file is named 312.zip and is more than 2.8 Gigas

and at symbian clanteam they are talking about 00.02.41.123

Any body who can explain the different versions and what zip-file is the right one? The 00.0.1.25.114 is the latest map version?? This is the zip-file we found in this thread:

Map data 00.02.41.123 is used by OVI Maps v3.06 which still currently at pre-release version for restricted number of devices, so we try not to confuse users of forum for whom v3.04 is the latest available version.

You are right. Unfortunately at Symbian.clanteam.com they do not mention the version of the

maps and for which phones the maps are suitable.

Dear Friend ,

I am Using a E72, i have the full map of the city i live but when i go to a neighbouring city or any other place i can’t get the map. But at the same time when i manually search the map in my phone with an internet connection i am able to get the map and it gets saved in the phone .

So can u pleas advice me if there is any way to download map of a particular region and save in the phone.

The simplest way if you have a pc with Ovi Suite on it is to connect your phone to the pc using the usb cable and use Ovi Suite to download map data for your country/region to your phone.

You can also download and install it the manual way by following the instruction at the start of this thread.

I would like to thank everybody but specially Ovikovi and scoobyman for their patience, support and help to all we have presented issues with maps. I had to buy a GPS during my last visit to the US (I live in Chile) as I couldnt load maps and use it offline.

I struggled with cbt error and many other during a couple of weeks until @MartynBrett pointed me to this section -shame on me for not doing it before- and BAM! in a matter of minutes and a quick nap, my phone had all the America maps, index for offline search and voices loaded and working.

Simply, just drag and drop... amazing!! I travel a lot all over the Americas and having an updated gps with city guides helps me a lot, besides I set my meetings in OviMaps site and sync them with my phone prior my departure, so I know where I will be and when.

For the record I have a macbook pro running OSX 10.6.4 and a X6 with a CFW installed, tried to loads the maps with the beta version but resulted extremely unstable, so I went back to the last official version 3.04.10 and so far its working good except for a few things i would like to ask for some help:

- In about window is now showing the maps version I loaded, is that normal?

- I loaded the index for north america and then south america overwriting the first one, is there a way i can load both and use them?

- I missing maps of some countries like Bolivia and Ecuador, i have the folders but there is no detailed maps, any clue?

In answer to:

(1) Are you saying that about is showing 0.1.25.114 for maps with v3.04? Sorry running 3.06 pre-release with 0.2.41.123 which doesn't show maps version perhaps because only this one available. For users of OVI Suite I believe it will show 0.1.25.114 just because they are available to download not necessarily on device currently,sorry can't find post about this right now.

(2) As Chan1102 so kindly pointed out I have started a new thread with work around for merging ClientIndex so should be no issue with both North & South America, see here:

Perhaps I should have added that nothing appears in terminal because a background process, just wait until $ prompt appears on new line before typing in next command.

(3) Bolivia & Ecuador are classed as non-navigable maps with limited data available, see here for further explanation:

Non-navigable countries

It has been stated that if whole region of maps is downloaded more data will be there but not in my experience, if device is "Online" you can sometimes pull further detail down for such regions.

Welcome to the forum!

Not quite sure what you want to achieve here unfortunately.

If you wish to install OVI Maps v3.06 Pre-release with map set 00.02.41.123 on your N8 then visit http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/ovi-maps-306 but there would then be problems if you then uninstalled this version.

If you wish to check that maps are up to date I suggest that you use OVI Suite, although N8 is so new it should have map set 00.01.25.114 installed already.
