I'm not using any of the phone memory, and have more than 400 MB free memory on the memory card.
What should I do?

simple solution.
You need to restore nokia settings from some backup file.
First, let me explain what is a backup file.
Its looks something like namexxx .NBF .
You create it in Phone --> settings --> sync and backup. ---> create backup.
Your phone settings and contacts will be backed up in this file.
Whenever your phone is having some trouble like the one above, simply go and restore from one of the healthy backup files that you had created earlier when your phone was in ok condition.
Caution :
While restoring, it will ask you whether you want to restore contacts, settings etc. Choose only the settings, otherwise your current contacts will get overwritten by your old contacts !!!
Well, if you dont have a healthy backup file already(I did not have one when I ran into this kind of trouble for the first time), simply get it from some friend who has a similar phone model, and restore all the settings except for the contacts.
My Suggestion to nokia : Let the backup file get created automatically in the phone every month.
Hope this helps.
