Factory reset locks memory card

Hi,

 

I recently did a factory reset of my Nokia 500. The phone switched off during the reset and when it switched on, it began asking me for a password to unlock the memory card. I realized I never gave such a password. Now the question is, why is it asking me for this password? Is it some new feature of Belle Refresh? If it is, and since I did not supply such a password, what is the default password? I dont want to format my memory card as I will lose all my contacts and other files then. Is there any other option to retrieve / reset the password?

If you can find local cellphone engineer with ATF Nitro Box microSD password can be brute forced without loss of data as in this resource:http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Pool-of-Knowledge/Forgot-your-memory-card-password-Here-is-what-you-...

I can try the default password if such a thing exists. But till now nothing has worked. Any suggestions on that?

Doubt that you will have much luck, but can always try 12345 and first five characters of your Nokia account password.
