I got the same problem, but it's been 2 days and I still can't remember the lock code
. To make things worse, it's CNY long holidays. Is there any trick besides going to Nokia Repair center.
TIA

hey... i too faced the same problem after upgrading the phone software from the nokia website... man this really sucks... and i never had set the lock code before upgrading... i spoke to a friend who is a cell phone reseller... he said there is no option but to send it to a Nokia service centre who will format the entire device. so if u dont have the latest backup... u are screwed... luckily i backed up today before upgrading...
funeeeeeeee....

I work for T-mobile tech support, you don't need to send it off for repair, I've had people with this problem who never changed the lock code from default, didn't even realise they had one, and all they needed to do was enter the standard sim unlock code, not 12345, not 00000, although they may work for some, the resolution I found was to enter the operator specific code which you get from the service provider i.e. orange/o2/t-mobile etc

I have upgraded software on my E71 and I got the same lock code problem...
i don't remember if i changed it -> I've got also an E61i and I have set the phone lock code QWERTY...
I didn't send my phone to the NOKIA repair shop... I just dial 112 and then hung up...
works like a charm... it doesn't solve the problem though
COUNTRY: ROMANIA
OPERATOR: COSMOTE
Please reply if you have a diffrent solution...

Hi,
Nothing much you can do in this situation except pray that you have already backed up your phone as the only option available is to send the phone to Nokia who will format the phone and reinstall all standard factory software and give it back to you. In this you end up loosing ALL data and additional software which you may have installed after purchasing the phone.
Sad but true...
ciao,
jesal.

as I wrote before,
for me the unlock code problem goes away when I dial 112, wait for a second and then I press the end call button..
112 is the emergency number in my country
I want to know if it works for anybody else...
the operator unlock code is an impossible thing to get...
