I have just bought a nokia asha 311 phone. It locks and unlocks using lock key. It is fine.

But when the phone is kept locked, it can be also unlocked using End key. Why?

Is it a problem with my phone?

Any body please provide me information.

Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!

This is normal, Nokia Asha 311 can be unlocked either by pressing the screen lock button or the power/end call button. If you want to have additional security, you can set your phone to prompt for a security code every time you unlock it. To do this, just go to settings > phone > security keyguard and input the security code you would like to use (remember to use 5 digits). Please note that the security code will be the one asked if you ever reset your phone or update it.

Then you have to get it reset thru' Nokia Care. Proof of ownership (bill / Invoice) may be asked ...

The problem with the end-key is that the battery is draining fast, if you keep the phone in the pocket. Nokia has to update the firmware.

Default code is 12345. If that or any other code is not accepted, you need to visit Nokia Care along with a proof of ownership (Bill / Invoice)

you will have to visit your local Nokia Care with proof of purchase of your handset for them to reset your security code: http://nokia.com/support

Remove the Battery for a couple of minutes then insert it back..but do not switch the phone ON for some 30 minutes.. After that you may switch it ON and try entering the CORRECT code. 

If this doesn't work you need to follow adrianhughes 's suggestion ..
