Fault with my Lumia?

I'm really stuck (and stressed) with my new Lumia.

When I make or receive a call the screen goes blank (black) so I can't cut the call :smileysad:

Am I doing something wrong?

@wonderbanana

Do you mean screen blacks out when phone beside your ear due to "proximity sensor" ensuring that phone pressing upon your ear does not accidentally initiate anything on touchscreen, or that this happens irrespective of where phone is?

Re: Fault with my Lumia?

Its like it wherever it is though it does have a cover on it.

Where abouts is the prox sensor?  I could try taking the cover off.

Re: Fault with my Lumia?

Was indeed the prox sensor, thanks. Protectve screen cover was affecting it. So now phone works but phone will get scratched.

Re: Fault with my Lumia?

Hi, I am having the same problem as wonder banana is, except, the issue didn't resolve when screen cover removed, it blacks as soon as I press call, therefore unable to hang up, choose an option or loudspeaker, etc. Any ideas?

Re: Fault with my Lumia?

You didnt say what phone you have but it is usually next to the front camera, between the camera and the speaker.
