Just adding to the already too long of list of freezing issues.
I got my 920 Monday and I only have freezing issue using my LG bluetooth headset. ONLY then have I had the freezing issues. Making a call once on it, then the other time after listening too music it froze.\
No other freezes using the phone under "normal" use.
Just wanted to share something that I read and tried that has, at least momentarily, fixed my sync issues. I read that uninstalling Skype preview did the trick for some and decided to give it a go and.. guess what? My sync issues went away! I would recommend anyone having sync issues to try this out and see what happens. Apparently it might also help prolong the battery charge.
Got a replacement 920 today, and so far, so good! I've beat the hell out of the interface, scrolling, changing screens, loading apps and everything else that I can think of that caused the other phone to hang. I love this phone, especially when it works!!!!
I too just experienced this. Normally on older phones I do a battery pull but with this..
So to recount exactly what happened..
I diverted to a youtube link from the twitter app. The IE became unresponsive at this point, closing the tab down was the only way as cancelling the link/inputting new url did not work.
When I was on the windows tips and trick website, that's when the IE broke down. Completely unresponsive I can only navigate via links on the website. The url and ie menus did not work and had to do a hard reset.
I had the same issue of the phone freezing/locking up. It would also reboot itself once in awhile. I called Nokia and spoke to a Lumia Specialist, he said for me to return the device and replace it with another. I also had some other things that i wanted addressed, one being the bluetooth pairing and the voice option to reply to a txt message and 2 that i can not play wav files on the phone. I had the Black Lumia and got a red lumia because they were all out of black.
What i did notice though when i took the phone back, he powered the device off then removed the sim card. After getting my phone all setup, i asked if he could wipe the original phone. The device wouldn't power up at first. He popped the sim slot open and there is a metal tray in there with the serial numbers taht he pulled out a bit and then replaced the sim cover causing the tray to slide back in. Device then powered up.. So, i am wondering if this is an issue with the sim slot itself..
Also, the Nokia specialist said that there has only been a few reports of the devices freezing up.. So, if your device is locking up or rebooting you should call Nokia and report it. He said if more reports come in they will escilate the issue.
one occasion it froze, but i forgot what I was doing.
Did not perform a hard reset. I attempted a poweroff but it will not respond.
Left it alone for about 30 minutes, then came back to see the "Slide down to poweroff".
Another occasion it froze when I was browsing the people/all.
Did not perform a hard reset.
Left it alone for about 30 minutes, then came back to see it not frozen.
I'll do a hard reset, not install any apps, and see how long it last.
Mine arrived last night. Fully charged in morning and only light usage. By mid afternoon half the battery which was fine. An hour later dead and unresponsive. Plugged in at home and followed suggestions by phones4U tech support. They are going to replace and told me to go to a shop but they only have black and white and mine was red. I now have to wait for a return envelope and won't get sent a new one until the original arrives with them. Gorgeous phone but at the first sniff of problems with a new one I'll be asking for my money back and getting an iPhone. Boring but it works.
I had my 920 freeze today for the first time since getting the phone on 11/9. I was at work and had just pulled up a picture to show a coworker when it reset itself then froze on the Nokia screen. Hard reset fixed it and it hasn't done it since.
My friend and I purchased the Nokia 920 on launch day November 9th. I went about 3 days without anything and he started out with a few freezes and was good until now. My phone started to freeze regularly recently. I became an expert at restarting my phone with the volume and power buttons. Thursday the 15th I replaced my Nokia 920 with a new one. My friend is going to do the same. The good news/bad news was my city with about 7! att stores were all sold out of the black model. I had to drive south to another city to get it. (I'd like my gas money back please!- lol). Anyhow. I just wanted to add my story to this. It first started when my battery was about to die when I plugged it in. I then wanted to check something and it frooze on my pin. After the first reset, it worked fine for awhile then it just started to get worse and worse each day. Not sure if this is hardware or software but I can say I know a light user with the HTC 8x with no problems. Again a light user, meaning 10 minutes a day compared to my hours and hours of use simply because I love playing with Windows phone 8. Hope a replacement fixes things.
I know some are talking about it rebooting and freezing while doing certain things but mine is locking up with nothing running and it just sitting there. Definately going to call Lumia and AT&T tomorrow to make sure this problem gets on their radar more.
In the meantime guess I'll look for a potential replacement since I'm already dissastisfied with VPN and Wifi.
Mine froze up and I have a very clear idea of the root cause but cannot prove it. I was using the navigation app and playing music at the same time.
Other times I have seen it reboot sporadically - suspect this has to do with the cell radio because I have only seen it happen while driving.
Other then these issues I still love my Lumia 920!!!!
Let's get this resolved quickly but correctly please!
my new Nokia 920 replacement i got two days ago has been working perfect with heavy use. All the same apps i had on the previous were installed, meaning everything is the same only this time it's not freezing at random. Strongly encourage anyone who has been getting freezes to replace ur phone prior to your likely 14 day time limit is up. Since I'm convinced now it was hardware.
my nokia lumia 920 freezed this morning while playing offline music. I had played with it intensively for 8 days with zero issue till this morning. a soft reset (volume down + lock key) recovers it. my guess is my att account manager might cause it because I updated it and used it before the freezing.

Had my AT&T Nokia 920 freeze as well.
Heavy use for a few days with no issues.
Was making a Bluetooth call when the phone became unresponsive.
Tried all buttons - nothing. Held down power button for 10 seconds. Nothing. Very frustrating.
Normally would have pulled the battery... but not an option.
Eventually discovered - through trial and error - that holding down power and volume caused a reboot.
On reboot the phone had problems with Bluetooth sync to the car. Had to remove and pair again.
Phone has been working well since this incident.
One other thing to note: when this freeze occured the back of the phone was pretty warm - and my battery life had not been great.
Subsequently I turned off tap+send and set email sync to 1 hour. Since then have not noticed the phone getting hot and the battery life appears to be better.
