I've tried shutting off and on, trying different numbers, and the recorder and other microphone apps don't work either. Non loud speaker conversations work and so do earbud/headset microphone calls. I've also tried volume controls, quiter area, no the mute button isn't on but it acts as if it were. I have a case for it but it does not block either microphone.
I've had the phone for three months. about a month and a half ago it fell and the screen shattered. Since it was going to cost more to have the screen fixed than what I paid for the phone I ordered a screen on Ebay and did it myself. But the speaker phone calls still worked after. Then a month ago I got a new SIM card because the one it had wasn't Wifi callng compatible. Speaker phone calls still worked. It hasn't been updated recently, but needs some updates. Then about a few days ago this happens. It's like the speaker phone's microphone is bad.
Thanks for sharing all this info, Lupita72. You can try checking for available update for your phone & see if it will make changes. To check if the Lumia Cyan software update is available in your region, go here: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-updat
Well I updated the Phone and now it works! I wonder what would have made it stop working and how an update could have fixed it. But the important thing is that it works!
Sorry to hear this, Lupita72. To verify, you updated the software of your phone to the Lumia Cyan or just its system apps? Does the same thing happen when using a compatible wired headset? Can you try the fixes I have listed on my previous post? Let's see if there's any changes. By the way, mind telling me where you're located? This is for me to provide you the correct link in case I'll be needing to give you one. Hope to hear from you soon!
I appreciate your detailed response, @Lupita72 . The Lumia Cyan is still in "Under testing" status for Lumia 925 from T-Mobile that's why you can't update it yet. No worries, your phone will automatically receive a notification once it's available. Software updates are being released gradually, so we ask you to be patient. For mroe info, see this: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/software-updat
You can also use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool to try fixing your phone: http://www.nokia.com/us-en/support/product/lumia92
Let's see if this will make any improvements.

Hi. After installing the Lumia Cyan software, did you also update your system apps? Regarding Cortana, it should be available. Note that if the language or the region settings are changed from the default English (United States) and Country/Region (United States), Cortana will not be available.
We can't tell whether you have damaged its microphone or any of its wiring, but we actually do not recommend fixing the phone on your own. This is to prevent unforeseen damage on it. In addition, doing such will void the phone's limited warranty. If you wish to have it repaired, you can coordinate it with Palco. They are our authorized 3rd party repair center in the US. See: http://www.palcocellphonerepair.com/. Charges may apply and creating a back up of your personal files is a must to avoid data loss. Visit this link: Nokia Lumia 925 - Back up and restore data on your phone to know how to do that. By the way, we'd appreciate if you will try using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool first before sending the phone for repair to see if it will make a difference. We are hoping for a positive outcome, Lupita72. Best of luck!
@Lupita72 sounds like the auxiliary microphone does not work. Although we have seen a lot of such reports, I am not aware of any solution than bringing the phone back to your dealer (which you do not have, mhm), who in turn sends the phone over to a local but genuine Nokia Care Centre for repair. In which country are you, so we can look-up the points for you? Or are you out of warranty as well?
Does this help?
I can't findCortana.
