Despite following all the forum advice I am unable to get tethering working on my Lumia 630.
I am on GiffGaff with a £10 goodie bag which allows tethering.
I bought the phone from GiffGaff, so should be no problems around unlocking.
I am connecting from a win7 laptop 64 bit .
I can connect to the device & see 1 guest connected. But I cannot bring up any web pages on my laptop.
Internet works on the lumia 630 directly, so its not a problem with internet setup on my device.
Anyone got this working in similar setup?
I see 1 guest connected.
Because you mention that, you are about Wi-Fi, aren’t you?
yes, connecting by wi-fi
Well, the phone sees the PC and it is sharing the connection with it as it says so in the settings screen.. There is several settings on the PC which may prevent the actual connection to be available so I suggest you focus there..

In your Windows computer, in its Device Manager, are you able to determine the manufacturer (and model) of your Wi-Fi card? That might help to find related threads. Furthermore, did you try to lower the MTU?
I have excatly the same problem! I also have nokia lumia 630 with giffgaff. Trying to connect to galaxy tab 3 and the same thing happens as with your laptop - conected, signal very strong, it even looks like the tablet is eating up the data!! but can not get the internet working. I don't think it is phone's or tablet's problem because when i was with a different network i was able to tethere. Very strange.
