I understand that 800 and N9 are more or less the same phone but with different OS.
Now, I can buy the 800 or the N9
What should I do? Which are the pros and cons of these two?

Comparison here but specification subject to finalisation: http://www.developer.nokia.com/Devices/Device_spec
Do you like constraints of Windows tiles UI, would restriction of not being able to send photos by Bluetooth be an inconvenience?
Would it bother you that number of applications available severely restricted?

The Nokia Lumia 800 only looks like the N9, but is, besides software, entirely different also in terms of hardware inside (Nokia's Windows Phone models are using Qualcomm hardware, but the N9 is based on Texas Instruments).

This is so easy Its N9 every time the lumia is rubbish no nfc as windows does not suppport it even thought some phone operator are saying that nfc will be bigger than bluetooth.
Get on the web and read all the reviews of the N9 plus the blogs there are thousand of loyal nokia supporters here in the uk who want a N9 .
Meego has so much potential to be one of the best os out there its so much better than android and apple.
All they have done with Lumia is take a N9 body and put wp7 os in it plus another ughly button on the side.To make matters even worse they have now added a white version of the N9.Which for looks alone is the best looking phone out there .Theres even a software update comming as well.
A few months ago nokia lauched the NFC 360 speaker a perfect companion for the N9 but not the Lumia as it has no NFC .
I'm sure if Nokia were to lauch the N9 in the uk that they would not be able to keep up with supplying them.It is a fantastic bit of kit so fluid can run multiple aps with easy .
You can get it here in the uk but its sim free .Come on Nokia give us the N9 there are thousands of us there wanting this phone .

N9 and Lumia 800 might share the same form factor, but they are totally different from a user perspective. If you have used the N9 before and switch to 800, you will definitely miss swiping, NFC, front facing camera. The Lumia 800 is fluid, and there are currently more US centric apps available for the Windows Phone. First thing I noticed on the Lumia is that the front facing camera was missing, but this is due to WP OS software restricton.
Now that I have returned the 800 after trialing it for 24 hours, I have been longing for it.
Here's a link to some comparison pics I took between the N9 and Lumia 800.

Those devices are not compareable, even if they look very similar.
The Nokia N9 is a top etch hi-end smartphone while the Lumina 800 is a expensive but simple Windows Phone. Uncompareable, even if they had the exactly same hardware specs.
Plugin the N9 and the Lumina 800 via USB into different devices. Only the N9 is able to provide a decent USB Hostmode. The Lumina sucks at the most devices except some Windows PC’s with Zune preinstalled and a ugly registry hack. But no Support for Car Stereos, TV’s, Satelite Receivers or refrigerators!
Conclusion:
– The Lumina 800 is a expensive feature Phone
– The Nokia N9 is a Smartphone competitive with Samsung GS2 and iPhone 4S

It's a shame they put a Qualcomm processor in the Lumia, I hope they sourced the graphics drivers this time (not like HTC did).
But now it'll probably be easier to run Android on the Lumia than Meego.
I'm just glad I'm still 10 months away from contract renewal, 'cause I'm definitely not paying the €600 for an N9.
Is there already any progress on porting Meego to the Lumia?

That was out of Nokia's control; Windows Phone 7 supports only Qualcomm (Microsoft's decision).
