Hi all,
I'm trying to enable developper mode for the first time on my Nokia N9 and I get the following message:
Download failed
Can't complete the download.
Connection to the application provider was lost.
Try again later.
I don't know if the problem is on my side or on Nokia server side. Can someone tell me if they are able to download the developper mode additional applications from Nokia at the moment?
Thanks and have a good one!

All right, thank you. So I definitely have a problem here.
Edit: I solved my problem by changing the firewall settings of my router and playing around with the network settings on the phone. Not sure what was the root of the problem as I already did these kind of manipulations a couple of days ago but without success...

Hello. I'm having a problem with enabling the developer mode too.
When I try to switch it on it tells me that it can't find the installation package.
What should I do?
Please, help! I'm desperate already! ![]()

Are you trying via 3G connection or WLAN as former may have more success?
If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white kudos star would always be appreciated.

Yes, I tried many times. The internet connection works fine. I think the problem is somewhere in the phone. What should I do?
I'm trying to contact my Nokia provider and they tell me that the developer mode is not allowed for customers and it's only ment for use from the gsm services and real developers... Is that true? I don't believe them, I think they're trying to wash their hands out, because they don't want to admit that the phone has a problem and they don't want to fix it...

Is your N9 running generic SIM free software or network branded version?

It's absolutely free, bought from a store, not from a mobile operator.

Is there a possibility that developer mode is unavailable in my country? (My country is Bulgaria)

Would be very surprised if this is the case. You could try backing up essential data with Nokia Suite upon PC and try resetting device:-
If this not successful you may have to consider re-installing device software and as N9 is running open source software process is not so restrictive as here:http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=82693

Ok, I'll reset it and will try again to switch the dev mode on. If not, I should flash the phone. Ok but is there a possibility that I'm not going to be able to use the warranty of the phone after flashing? I mean is there a way they could undestand that I've flashed it? That's the main reason I'm so unsecure and ask so many stupid questions (I'm sorry about that and I'm very thankful that you pay some attention to my problems).
Thank you very much! ![]()

You could try re-installing existing device software with standalone Nokia Software Updater:
http://nds1.nokia.com/files/support/...erSetup_EN.
This would record that you have tried to re-install the correct firmware with Nokia authorised application, which can't invalidate any warranty.

Hi. Tried that. Yesterday I cleared the device and then reinstalled the latest software version (PR 1.3). It's working better and all apps are opening quickly. Still I have that problem with developer mode, 'can't trace installation package'. What should I do? Reset the phone, reinstall software... now?
I'm desperate already.
And I can't install wazapp, because it tells me 'can't find installation package'. I think it has something to do with that developer mode...

With regards to Whatsapp http://www.openwhatsapp.org/download/N9 If you go to Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Installations > have you enabled "Allow installations from non-Store sources?

Yes, I've enabled installations from non-store sources.

If you have reset device via user interface, re-installed software with NSU, have good 3G network connection and tried a different WiFi router with no change, then you may have little alternative other than to re-flash device.
Here is link for WinFlasher http://skeiron.org/tablets-dev/maemo_dev_env_downl

I'm scared of flashing the phone... And I'll lose the warranty...
Have you seen this (attachments). There are some files missing...
I talked to my Nokia service center, they told me that I'm not supposed
to use the developer mode??? Is that just an excuse because they can't handle the problem? I have nobody to ask and trust here. ![]()

The last thing that I want to do is take you out of your comfort zone or predujice any warranty upon your device. Your posted screenshot implies that it couldn't establish network access for some reason with procedure outlined here:
Whilst you may be discouraged from enabling developer mode there is no way that generic SIM free version should be so affected.

I've checked the connection - it works fine... I'll try what you tell me and I'll write after that.
I'm wondering is there dev mode something to do with wazapp? I mean is it a must to enable dev mode to install wazapp? I'm experiencing problems with installing wazapp too...
2013-03-22 11:30
I think the phone is ok now. Somehow I managed to install wazapp (after 1 milion tries).
Now I'm satisfied! ![]()
I think the developer mode could be enabled now too, because when I try to switch it on, it shows me a different message from the other that appeared before. Now I know that I don't need it enabled to have a working wazapp application.
yeyy!
Thank you very much for your help! I really appreciate what you did and that you really tried to help me! Thank you!
Hope that I won't be having more problems! ![]()
