Cannot add dropbox account

Hi,

I'm trying to add my Dropbox account trough integrated "Accounts" application on my N9 (PR1.3), but I'm always "greeted" with "Wrong username or password" error message. I'm sure that the username and password are OK (I entered them numerous times to be sure).

I'm suspecting that the Dropbox has changed it's API and the Dropbox plugin should be updated accordingly. If that's the case can we expect it to be updated?

Maybe there's a better explanation for trouble with Dropbox plugin?

Br,

Filip

Re: Cannot add dropbox account

Does it make any difference using a Dropbox client such as Dropian:http://store.ovi.com/content/258635 or http://store.ovi.com/content/125322 for the free version or DropN9 http://store.ovi.com/content/212236 ?

If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white kudos star would always be appreciated.

Re: Cannot add dropbox account

I tried Dropian FREE - and it doesn't work - the message is saying that the app is using some deprecated authentication - or something to that affect.

I'm aware that there are 3'rd party apps for Dropian, but' I really need only sending to Dropbox from gallery - so integrated accounts plugin would just be all I need.

Re: Cannot add dropbox account

Dropian still works though at least for me, perhaps it is only account creation that app.  Not as good as being able to share directly from the gallery but better than nothing.
CuteBox shows a message from Dropbox saying "Version 0 of the Dropbox core APIs is no longer supported" and gives a URL to a page giving migration help for developers.
Filesink just sits there with a wait cursor spinning.
So there are alternatives, just not for sharing directly from the gallery.
Is this an unexpected change by Dropbox?  My Linux boxes all work still with Dropbox as does my work Win7 box.

Re: Cannot add dropbox account

Hi everyone,

Just an update on the Dropbox for Nokia N9 from the relevant team:

Unfortunately Dropbox on N9 doesn't work any more because of the API changes. You can check for other alternatives for Dropbox connections at Nokia Store as there are some 3rd party apps available: www.store.nokia.com

Should I take this response seriously or is this some kind of sick joke?

Unbelievable...if this company had a brain in its head it would just say nothing.

You don't tell people to look for other options in the store when plugins that SHIPPED with the phone start to break!!

You fix them until the 2 year warranty expires and then you tell people to get lost...

To the moderators: no one is angry at you as you just moderate...but your employer just flat out sucks.

The sell out by the Microsoft lackey / flunky is totally complete and you don't even acknowledge your customers from years past unless they have one of your trash Lumias.

Dont forget that when you were great it was because you supported your Symbian and Maemo customers and they responded with the same devotion as Apple customers. Those customers are what made you. Now that you have completely abandoned them you find yourself going around and around at the bottom of the toilet bowl  about to get sucked down the drain. But it's where you belong...basic business sense is you don't tell your existing customer base to fly a kite and then expect them to buy your new junk...especially when that junk is supplied by a company (Microsoft) with a losing track record for phone OSes. Windows Mobile? junk. WP7? total junk. WP8? Even worse junk. The 2.9% market share bears that out...unless you somehow believe that everyone is just stupid and you have the greatest product since chocalate dipped strawberries.

I don't know...I feel sorry you. Most of us have and will move on but you as a company are dead...and that really is the tragedy of it.
