Custom Ringtones DOES work on N9
Just follow these steps.
A little troublesome compared to other phones in the past but IT WORKS!
1) Create a folder in your phone's music folder called tones or ringtones or watever u wanna call it.
2) Go to your music folder and it will be probably be in an album called UNKNOWN ALBUM and let all those tones loop once i.e play all the tones from start to end at least once.
It won't take long cos tones are real short in length
3) Reboot phone
Once booted, you should be able to see that tone.
If you do not see that particular tone, do the same again
1) Play that tone
2) Ensure you play it from start till end at least once
3) Reboot
It works:
