FONT MAGNIFIER NEEDED ON AN N9

I have been using the N9 for 2 days now & prior to this I was using an N8 for almost a year & still keeping it for sentimental reason.

I hope the developer of "FONT MAGNIFIER" can come up with a version for the N9. Personally I find that the N9's font is on the small side. "Whatsapp" is also missing in Meego phones.

With a much bigger screen, the N9 is much better to use & the touch screen is just so intuitive. It has a bit of Android flavour in it. You can easily access the most used settings in all views by tapping the status area. Camera is real snappy with no lag what so ever.

What I miss most is the lack of an external SD card & the N8 is excellent in this area where it has a Mass Memory / 8GB & as well as an external SD card. Downloading of apps is much faster than the N8. I wouldn't know if the forthcoming "Belle" software upgrade will speed up things a bit. The prosessor in the N8 is bit on the lame side as well. Nowadays you need at least a 1Ghz processor in a smart phone.

Re: FONT MAGNIFIER NEEDED ON AN N9

Yes, I love my N9 too, but I am getting eye strain trying to read these minute font sizes that it seems cannot be changed on the N9.  Please either can the developers include a font size change in the first firmware update or can someone develop some font changing software?

Thanks!

1st firmware update does not mention anything about being able to change Font size. Got a 700 to play with & I'm not cmplaining. Is small, responsive & Belle is by far the best Symbian OS update. Keep up the good job, Nokia.

Re: FONT MAGNIFIER NEEDED ON AN N9

I've noticed in the recent PR1.1 update for the N9 that the font size has been increased in some apps, most noticeably the messaging app.

PSYCHOMANIA: Interesting to know that & any idea how much bigger has the Font size increased to after the update? The original Font size is about the same size or smaller than "SMALL" in Symbian Belle.

It definitely looks much bigger than before. This is a more decent size. Partly to blame is my ageing eyes, LOL! Cheers mate,

Re: FONT MAGNIFIER NEEDED ON AN N9

Font size is certainly better, but still could be larger - hopefully someone is working on an app to do this?  Otherwise please could someone give a step by step (for novices like me) list of instructions for how to edit the default settings to increase the font size?  Thanks!

Re: FONT MAGNIFIER NEEDED ON AN N9

I don't know if u can increase the size of the Font. I think w/ the latest update the Font size has been increased by default. Maybe we have to wait for a developer to come out w/ a Font size magnifier to do that. Whatever it is IMHO, the N9 is a much better phone than the 800 Lumia / Window OS phone.

I can confirm that font size in messages was increased (but there is no option to increase fonts through settings, which is fine with me)
