How to obtain firmware when tablets-dev.nokia.com site is down?

My N900 is not booting so I'd like to try flashing a new kernel.

According to http://wiki.maemo.org/Flasher, the flasher should be available from

http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/maemo-dev-env-downloads.php

and the UK firmware, according to http://wiki.maemo.org/Maemo_UK_variant_firmwareshould be available from

http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N900.php

When I try either of those links I get the following error:

An error occurred while processing your request.

Reference #97.d700434d.1362137229.d11ddf

I've tried phoning Nokia support services, but the automated reply system says my IMEI is not valid for support. :smileysad:

Brilliant, many thanks Scoobyman!

I was able to flash it with PR1.3 and it's booting now... not recognising the SIM card though, hopefully that's a simple problem.

Have a look at this thread:http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=53335

Is it version for your country?

Yes, I flashed the UK (203) firmware.

Thanks for the link to that thread, I'm working through their suggestions.

I'm not sure quite what the problem was - I'd already tried removing the SIM card, without success - but anyway after  inserting a different SIM card (which was recognised) I put the original one back in and this time it worked.

Thanks again scoobyman, you're my saviour!

Happy that your N900 working again, you should seriously consider CSSU now:http://wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU

Re: How to obtain firmware when tablets-dev.nokia.com site is down?

Could be a hardware issue but trying a new SIM, pressing battery in hard and re-flashing might just work if SIM holder starting to lose connection with motherboard.

If you want to erase all user data I would reflash device firmware to restore device to "Out of box" state.
