IMAP folder mapping on N9

[ Edited ]

Hi!

I recently discovered that my freemailer offers IMAP...yeah, great! But my happiness dissapeared quickly after trying to set up an IMAP account on my N9. The N9 does not autodetect correctly he corresponding folders for SENT, TRASH, etc items and it also does not offer any dialog where I could adjust thoses mappings (like on Iphone - see screenshot). It leaves me with a local and remote folder structure (see 2nd screenshot - sorry for bad quality).

Sent mails for instance are saved in the local "SENT" folder, but never saved in the corresponding remote IMAP folder. Also deleted mails are deleted locally only but never moved to TRASH (Gelöscht in my case) on the server.

My IMAP provider is a German freemailer. I assume this is why the autodetecting of folders does not work correctly. But then please leave an options to configure this manually! I hope to see such a dialog in the 1.2 release! This is much more important to me than any "face recognition".

I saw several threads dealing with a similar IMAP problem. A dialog for folder mappings would solve many of this troubles I believe!

Re: IMAP folder mapping on N9

Yes, you should use the MeMail app for N9. This app allows you to set up a folder mapping for your configured IMAP accounts! http://store.ovi.com/content/263945?clickSource=publisher+channel&channel=&pos=1
