You need to transfer the .cer base 64 encoded to your n900 then open the .cer from file manager and it will have option to install. My problem is the certificate i have is not trusted so i do not get an install option. Does anyone have a workaround?

I use SSL when connecting to my mail server.. it's a self signed certificate.. and to be fair I did nothing special to add the certificate.. it just seems to have added it.. What is poor is that I don't remember if it asked me to accept the certificate permanently!
What problems are you getting when you're using email and when you're using the browser? Can you let us know what dialog boxes/prompts appear and when?

If I open a HTTPS website that uses a non-public or self-signed certificate in the browser I'm prompted to add an exception..
If I select add exception, get certificate, add exception permanently (checkbox on) then the SSL certificate is accepted for that website indefinitely.. The now trusted certificate does not, however, appear in the certificate manager..

i have a bluesocket secured connection in my university and the first time i opened my browser i was asked to accept the certificate this is usual i also get this on the desktop browser. so i added the certificate as an exception and was directed to the bluesocket page where i was able to enter my username and password and hence then when ever i open my browser and try to open a link my n900 restarts. it has happened when i tried to install applications as well. what do u think the problem is....is it a certificate issue or a browser issue or a phone issue can anyone help me please.
thanks

I also installed a certificate and indicated the purpose for all available options including wlan. However when I want to use it in my wlan configuration, the dropdown list for certificates is empty!
How do I fix that?
