As the title reads I am trying to export messages from my Nokia N900 to either a Nokia N8 or Nokia 5800?

I know it's possible to use phone switch amongst Symbian nokia devices, but I'm not sure about with Maemo.

Is there anyway this is possible? any help is appreciated

It is definitely possible to use Switch between an N8 and a N9 because I use it to sync mine. I presume it should work with N900 as well.

should work as it does with n9. meego is just the newer version of maemo.

if not, you may be sol on that one because I db files are not the same for Symbian and meamo.

btw...that was a great device. I wish that nokia would not have stopped development.

I'm not sure PhoneSwitch is on the N900 and even if it is, it definently will not copy sms messages. I remember when I got my N900 it copied contacts only there was no option to copy sms, I had to get someone to write a small program to copy my messages from my 5800 to my N900.

Theres gotta be a way to export them to even csv format, that other Nokia smart phone scan read, surely someone must have done this before?

What about using Switch from the N8? If my memory serves me right the Switch on the N8 has settings to sync either way.

Yes it does from N8 to N9 or vice versa. Can't confirm N900 but no reason why not.
