HI GUYS A VERY BAD THING HAPPENED WITH MY N900 , was just boozing and dropped my precious n900 in hot CHICKEN MONCHOW SOUP , A LITTLE BIT FROM THE END OF USB AND THE PHONE WAS WORKING FINE AT THAT MOMENT I QUICKLY CLEANED IT AND IT WAS WORKING FINE , THOUGH I DROPPED IT 7 TO 8 TIMES HERE AND THERE IT NEVER STOPPED WORKING , AND THIS TIME IT WAS STILL WORKING BUT I WAS JUST WAITING FOR THE WORST, AFTER SOME TIME IT WONT START AS IT SWITCHED OFF BY ITSELF , JUST THE NOKIA LOGO AND REBOOT AND THUS IT ENTERED THE BOOT LOOP AND THEN THINGS GOT WORSE AS NO CONNECTION WITH USB OR CHARGER WILL GET IT STARTED AND THE BEST PART WAS ABOUT TO COME THE NEXT MORNING THE DISPLAY WONT COME AND I THOUGHT MY N900 IS FINALLY DESTROYED SO GAVE IT TO A MOBILE TCHNICIAN AS HE TOLD THE CIRCUIT IS BEEN "SHORTE" AS HIS TAMIL ACCENT WOULD DESCRIBE AND HE GOT IT TO GET THE NOKIA LOGO BACK AND SAYS THE USB IS NOT WORKING AND HENCE THE SOFTWARE REPAIR BY FLASHER CAN"T BE INITIATED SO HAVE TO SHOW IT TO THE NOKIA SERVICE CENTER , THOUGH I GAVE IT A TRY ON MY COMPUTER NO RESULT
I AM USING WIN 7 ULTIMATE 64 BIT AND THE N900 WONT GET DETECTED IN MY COMPUTER TRIED EVRY POSSIBLE STEP IN EVERY FORUM , RIGHT FROM LIB USB TO FIRMWARE FLASHING BUT CANT DO NOTHING AS PHONE IS NOT BEEN DETECTED JUST THE NOKIA LOGO AND SWITCH OFF
SO GUYS AS PER YOUR EXPERIENCE WHAT SHLD I DO , SHOULD I LET MY N900 TO BE R.I.P OR STILL GIVE IT TO SERVICE CENTER OR ANY OTHER TECHNICIAN
I HAVE TO SAVE MY CONTACTS AND MESSAGES ANY HOW .....
SO GUYS PLEASE HELP.. I KNOW THERE IS NOT MUCH HOPE.. BUT GIVING UP SO EASY IS NOT AN OPTION FOR ME..
I HAVE A FREIND WHO REPAIRED HIS N900 AS DIRECTED BY ME USING FLASHING 3.5 I HAVE TO CHANGE BATTERIES AND GIVE IT A TRY OR EITHER TRY IT ON A WIN XP 32 BIT COMPUTER , TRIED CHANGING PORTS ON MY WIN 7 64 BIT COMPUTER .. SO HAVE TO START TRYING NOW , SO GUYS PLEASE HELP ME OUT...

Unfortunately soup would have high sodium chloride content making it a perfect electrolyte and as well as removing battery immediately you might have needed to flush with deionised water before placing in bowl of rice in warm spot for 24 - 48 hours. It sounds from your post as if you tried to access device immediately after accident and have to be pessimistic as to the outcome here.

yup i fixed the circuit from a technician and i can get the display screen but its not getting connected to the usb flasher so i have to try with another fully charged nokia n900 battery on my freindscomputer.. not gona give up that easily.. anyways thanks for your reply.. a bit of scientific knowledge..
I have the same problem and am about to ship my Nokia. Any luck fixing your phone? did you try with a fresh battery?
