Thanks for the advice about using older versions. If I had of searched for this earlier I wouldn't have bought Windows 7 to install nokia link and then found out it doesn't sync contacts (AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHH
) but my mind is at rest. So thanks again

Winny, I apologize for contacting you directly but you seem to know a lot about this phone. I can sync my calandar though CalDav but not contacts through "Nokia account." When I press "sync," by N9 appears to be actively syncing but none of the contacts I've added in the Ovi.com account transfer over. Do you use this feature or might you know how to fix it? I use a mac so syncing with outlook is not an option for me. Thank you!

Terry,
np, even my girlfriend is a bit jealous in the meanwhile ![]()
I was also fighting with the solution to store my contacts in the ovi.com account.
After syncing the Nokia Account I expected to see the contacts in https://mail.ovi.com/ but nothing happened.
Then I found out how it works for me.
Try this:
- Sync your Contacts with Nokia Account again on your N9
- Goto https://exportcontacts.ovi.com/
There you can find: To export your contacts: "Click here". This will download your contacts in a Ovi_Contacts_Data.zip file which you can save on your PC. In the zip file you can find your contacts as csv file"Unfiled_Contacts.csv".
- Now goto https://mail.ovi.com/ and connect with your Nokia Account ID. Don't be surprised... Nokia mail is powered by Yahoo in the meanwhile
. Goto "Contacts"
- There is an option "import contacts" (don't know the wording in English) and you can import the Unfiled_Contacts.csv in option Others (uncheck "Other Nokia Account" and check "Outlook Mail application" (In German: "Desktop-Mail-Programm (Outlook, AppleMail usw.)"). Browse for the Unfiled_Contacts.csv on your PC.
- Then you can choose the Unfiled_Contacts.csv and import them. Now you should see all your contacts as well in the OVI account.
- On your N9 you can see these contacts as well via the following URL:
You need to enter the whole name@ovi.com mail address for log on. Also don't be suprised that you can see Yahoo there. Your ovi mail address should work.
Good luck ![]()

Hi there, please tell her not to worry![]()
Thank you very much for replying.
I may have to play with this a bit more. I'm using a Mac but I have found a way to 'load' the contacts from my phone to ovi.com in csv format. What I was hoping for was to just be able to keep things mutually synced by hitting sync on the Nokia account, on the phone. Sounds like this might not be possible. Thank you again and best wishes,
Terry

Here is what you do. Uninstall all Nokia products. Restart pc. Close Wi-Fi and virus program. Install Nokia pc suite 3.2.100. (You can find it on internet). Don’t upgrade. Open pc suite and turn off upgrade auto-. Follow the normal procedure for connection between pc and phone. ( PC suite helps you through the process). Support also Bluetooth. Sync - and file free. It works. ( PC suite options – chose what to sync).

Hi there, thanks so much for trying to help me out. My problem is that I'm on a Mac so the PC Suite isn't an option...and I see from the compatability list that the N9 isn't on it (for the Mac iSync software).
I'm just really perplexed about what is being synced in terms of contacts when I hit that Sync button on the N9, some kind of sync process seems to happen, but contacts I've added in the Ovi mail don't show up on the N9....I'd love to know what is happening...what is it I'm syncing with?
Very appreciative of you folks trying to help me out but, yes, the issue is that I'm on a Mac so the conventional suite isn't an option and the N9 (unlike the N8 which I also have but no longer use) isn't compatible.
Thanks again!

@tlevitt
At least I could use the Suite solution with version 3.2.100 which I did already before the mandatory suite update came.... But I also would prefer to use the sync function of the Nokia account in an automated way.

As mentioned already in one of my previous posts in my opinion the Nokia account is syncing the contacts with https://exportcontacts.ovi.com/ and the only option is to download the contacts as csv file.
Another issue which I found was after adding a new contact this new contact was and still is not listed in the contacts for Nokia account on the N9 after syncing... but anyway the contact was visible in the exported csv file from https://exportcontacts.ovi.com/.
Any comment from Nokia or another N9 guru?
Thanks,
Winny

Thanks, Winny. I really don't get it. So interesting that you say a new contact shows up in an exported csv file. So it is there...maybe just a software glitch.
Ahhhh, Nokia. Such a mixed bag for me. Love the phone radios and the hardware. Love Harmattan generally. Just don't like it when these types of (what should be simple) things don't work.
All the best,
Terry
