I have new N900. whenever I used to open the Application manager and was looking for updates, it was starting to check but after some time i was getting msg that there is some problem in some catalogue. But now a days whenever I open application manager it immediately gives the message "Operation Failed". But the window remains open. Even download from OVI was also not allowed before and after this message started coming.
Pls. help.

same probleme here. i sent my device to repair and they said that wasnt a software probleme, it was without a doubt an internet adresse or nokia repositorys probleme. so i called nokia hotline and after 5 calls they came to the conclusion that either was my wlan modem probleme or software probleme. probleme with modem is not because i tried in several diferent places and the probleme continous, so now the only alternative that i have is return it to the assistance to repair. please can anyone help? i have made the software update but its still the same.

try to uninstall the latest apps you added. the only time i get this message is when an app failed to install properly from the devel catalogue. if you havent touched the devel catalog, then i dont really know.

Try visiting maemo.org from your phone's browser and installing an app from there. If there is something wrong with your repositories app manager will ask to add a new repository or replace the existing ones.

First try to disable all the catalog, and then enable it one by one ..

The simple answer is re-enable catalogues. If it didnt worked, see this link..

***Also remove your catalogues and re install them!(I mentioned that in the above link)

It's all down to server relocation as Nokia no longer hosts:http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=88659

Nokia has long since abandoned support for Maemo devices and it is already in the hands of the community:http://talk.maemo.org/. What has changed is that Nokia are no longer prepared to host these resources at cost to themselves which have consequently had to migrate!
If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white kudos star would always be appreciated.
