i know buddy, but you will be fine even if your rootfs space gets down to 10mb.

it just needs to be clear when the updates come that require a larger amount.

but your right, its a hog.

Can someone write why and how these repositories may be used?

Briefly a few lines about each.....if possible, listing the applications that can be enabled using each of these repositories.

That will be a big help for the NOOBs.

Extras repository for community applications

The Extras repository contains applications that are developed by the Maemo community, and are meant to be used on-device.

Extras Testing repository for for testing of stable community applications

The Extras Testing repository contains applications that are developed by the Maemo community, and are waiting to be evaluated and promoted to Extras.

Extras Development repository for testing of unstable community applications

Extras-devel is an unstable repository for testing unstable community software. It is recommended only for developers and adventurous users willing to test potentially harmful software.

if you dont know what devtools are, then you dont need to install it.


if you are talking about the extras-devel repository, then feel free to install that. it will allow you access to some of the developing applications that are being released, but at your own risk.

Thanks for the reply...i allready have the extras,extras testing and devel but i dont know about the My maemo,amsn,devtools ext.this 3 is ok and i dont need the others????what do you thing???

yes, you can just reflash.

it is stated because we cannot control what you do or do not do which could effect your device, causing you to have to flash it.

that is all.


some people like to say they followed the directions, mess it up becuase they missed something, then slander or blame others for having to start over.
