Hi,
I am trying to use SIP over wifi on an N900.
If I try calling someone from an N900, I can hear that person correctly. However, that person is unable to hear what I say. The quality varies from very choppy to completely inaudible.
- Tried different SIP servers with different providers.
- Tried rebooting the N900
- Tried different wifi networks on different internet connections (both are broadband and have other sip phones working well on them)
- Tried different wifi security types (WPA2, WEP, none)
Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks.

It is because N900 send very big G711 frames with 40ms packetization. Not all devices can handle G711 with 40ms.
Anybody know how to limit G711 packetization on N900?

Out of interest, does it perform better with a consistent noise source.. ie playing a music track?

Since PR1.2, we respect the a=ptime and a=maxptime properties in the SDP. If you're server needs a specific ptime (or maximum ptime) and does not specify it, it's a bug in the server.

I have the exact same problem, but with Skype and the audio coming through is so bad I just don't use Skype anymore.
This is over 3G and wifi, with Titan and stock kernel.
