I have a nokia n9 and whenever i try to use the facebook chat on it for chatting it says no contacts to display. Also when i try to go online on facebook from the availability option it doesnt make me online, ( the online green bulb blinks green and goes off) Please help me FB chat is very important for me.

Hi Rucky33,

Please try and log out of Facebook messenger and resync your account to it.

Also please be sure that you have available data allowance for 3G as it sounds as if your device does not have a stable data connection.

It may also be worth checking Nokia store for any available updates for the facebook applications.

You should be able to find further support specific to the facebook application from the facebook help site.

Thanks a bunch for replying sir, i appreciate it. The chat only doesnt work with my account it allways works with my friends accounts, so i guess there is no problem with the app. And yeah i had messenger available and i used it evryday on my previous phone before i got the N9 so i think that is the problem. Could you plese tell me how to log off of it and resync it to my present N9?

dude..when u click on "facebook chat" then two options came- "Show contacts only" & show outside contacts"
just choose "show outside contacts" it should refresh and show ur online friends.

I've got the same problem. Have you found any solution yet? At the moment only solution I've found for this is to make a completely new facebook account.. Not yet sure if the problem is in the phone or in the facebook-chat for my account.

I found out what caused the problem with my n9. I tried to share a picture through Epic Fail app (from Ovi store). The sharing wen't ok, but the picture didn't actually get shared in my timeline.

After this the facebook online status has been stuck in "account in use" everytime I try to go online. The app works otherwise normally.

Haven't found yet the solution how to get the facebook-sync work again. Something to do with Nokia servers and sharing maybe.

Could the moderator possibly forward this to someone who is knows about how the N9 facebook app works? Does it use some kind of Nokia server in connecting to Facebook? Maybe of this server could make some kind of reset to all facebook-accounts connected through it could make these pending sharings go away.

Same problem here. Facebook chat doesn't work (network error) and Facebook contacts in address book are missing too.
