ive been using the nokia n9 for about 2 weeks and everyting is fine until i decided to have a twitter account and found out the twitter built in app wont work. i keep getting
"unable to load trending topic"
when i use the app and when try to login i get
"Sorry can't connet to twitter"
i got a few personel solution from other Meego forum. However, non worked
i tried changing the time and it did not work.
im not going to master reset my phone because im afraid that all the trouble will not solve it.
The only solution i have was to download twimgo to use twitter on my n9. Any proper solution to fix this problem? =(

kindkong, I have the exact same problem as you. Seriously, is Nokia doing anything about it. I am sure some Nokia employees are in this forum. So, is there any permanent solution to it? If I were to reset the phone, do I select 'Restore Settings' or 'Clear device'?
Apart from not being able to connect to Twitter, I also have the following to ask:
1. Is there a way to log out from the existing Facebook account like in Snaptu? The other day, my friend wanted to use my phone (his phone was low on battery) to access his Facebook account but he could not.
2. Is the Compass working in the 'Open Applications' screen? Mine is not but in the demo video, it did!
Any help at all is much appreciated.

OK, if reformatting the device, how can I ensure that I don't trigger the issue again? For me twitter worked OK, but I had to reformat because the Nokia account didn't work - and after reformatting, neither the Nokia account *nor* twitter worked!

ok, i 'Restore settings' (not 'Clear device') but Twitter is still not working. i think i have to wait for the software upgrade.

use this. worked on my unit!
open xterm (do not devel-su into the terminal)
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/http_proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/proxy
gconftool --recursive-unset /system/osso
this will clear all your internet connections and wifi setups. but it will make your twitter able to work.
you can just resellect your wifi accounts and reconnect to them and also your carrier internet connection as well.

thanks for the pointers ceroberts75
actually, everything was set correctly. It was the internet connection that was missing after i did what u suggested in developer mode in order to make Twitter works
so what i did was shut down the phone and turn it on again and feeds are pouring in ![]()
thanks again and have a nice day!

You don't need to clear all your internet connections and wifi setups to get rid of those misused proxy configurations.
That can be achieved easily from the UI by editing your network access point(s), going to advanced settings, setting proxy type to MANUAL and emptying the proxy host and port fields there.
If you are already connected, then you need to reconnect to get the new settings applied.
