I am in the UK but have received a text & emails telling me to update

The update SMS, sent to many UK users.. is soooo unhelpful.. The version (or more accurately, variant) you phone is running is the UK 203 version.. Same as mine and many other users in the UK...

Nokia have NOT released the UK version (infact two UK versions.. unlike the rest of the world the UK is special in that it not only has one, it has TWO versions.. 203 and 205 for vodafone)

It is expected to arrive "on time" according to a recent Nokia "tweet" and the arrive time is "weeks" so.. that's really REALLY helpful.

You have two choices if you're running a 203 or 205 variant..

you can wait for the UK release at which point you should be able to update via the app manager on your phone... (this is what I'm waiting for)

or you can re-flash your phone with the global firmware version. The downside is this means wiping your phone clean, though you can restore from a back up

To be honest, PR1.3 brings very very little to the table for an average or even moderately advanced user.. I would wait a few more weeks before doing anything..

I am irritated that out of the WHOLE world, the UK is being left behind again.. it is rediculous..

Save this file in the Documents folder

3) Open an x terminal and run
sh MyDocs/.documents/purgeall.sh

4) upgrade again (fingers crossed)

If you can't upgrade now.. there might be some more work:

You have a number of packages that failed to install:

libblas3gf
liblapack3gf
libportmidi0
libsmpeg0
python-numpy
python-pygame

Those might need to be removed too, but it might be more complicated so we'll look at those if you can't upgrade

Thank You cpithford. got the file and the firmware update went like a breeze. EVERYTHING's working fine. NITDROID, Overclock and the dualboot. Thank you again for your help.

Did you run the pr13.sh program?
It creates a pr13.tgz file in the root of your device, where you see the Document, Videos Sounds folders..

I dont have gltron(btw, that's the same thing that I found out from that pr13.tgz file), but I used the apt-get remove command to remove the libgles1-sgx-img package, it has succesfully been removed and now I am updating. Will let you if successful(or unsuccessful).

aah.. yeah, its in "rc" state meaning you did have it, but you removed it a while ago.. It's still stopping the upgrade.. Follow steps 2 and 3, though.. it'll clean out the **bleep** and remove package dependencies that might cause problems later...
