hi, i have cssu installed on my n900 from 2 days i had just an update for it from the app manager and it was done succesfully the phone rebooted and everything is normal even much better but after that i recognized that when i press on the tab of the battery, clock and these stuff nothing is coming down only a small black bar on the top of the screen....  . plz help..i cant change my status for msn,skype or do anything

Maybe you didnt downloaded the update correctly... So install rootsh from appmanager.

Then open xterm and type;

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

*also try changing your theme...

did those three things and reboot nothing happened

sounds like you are having a theme issue or you somehow are having an issue with the systemui.xml file.

definately would try to do the theme first.

you have to be sure that you completely change the theme and then see if it works.


also, are you using the theme-customizer?

i changed the theme 3 times and each time i change the theme i reboot nothing happened and i have theme-customizer installed but not using it now even before that problem

evn i m facing the same problem......i js installed CSSU but culdnt locate the status bar....excpt batry and volume control no other option is availble....
plz help....

try taking the battery out, it does more for the device than a reboot if that fails you could try running

root

apt-get update

apt-get install -f

REfalsh is the only option to get teh status menu back....!!!

re installing all the programs again and all the settings is not a solution at all this would really take alot of time

can you scroll through the menu when you select it?

maybe we are just missing something small... but yeah, a reflash could help always...

* maybe theres something to do with transitions.ini file.... not sure actually...

go into cssu tuner and see how many status rows are shown mine says 6 might be something simple as this.

mine is worse nothing is showing even and when i entered the cssu tuner it told me reading the configuration settings gave a fatal error while reading the gconf values. not all settings are available..... any idea?!

Ok .. After CSSU 14 , theres a new Gconf key was added. So it can menage the status menu.

Anyway, do this.

1)Install midnight commander -

open xterm and type;

root

apt-get install mc

apt-get clean

2)then close the xterm and reopen it. Then type ;

root

cd /etc/osso-af-init/gconf-dir/apps/osso/hildon-status-menu/view

mc

*it will open the midnight commander.

3)Then select the file in it (it will be like%gco~.xml) and tap "view" .

4)Then post back a screenshot here. Use ctrl+shift+p in keyboard.

5)Also take a screenshot of this and post back.
