Hi hope someone can sort this for me. Was transferring music and pictures from my memory card onto my n900 and it totally stalled/stopped halfway through. Froze. Couldnt cancel or the like had to take my battery out and turn phone back on. Did so and now my main memory on the phone is saying 'read only'  when I try to copy files onto it or delete existing ones. cant do anything. Any help appreicated.

Try re-connecting the phone to your computer/PC suite, I did the same and gave myself a similar fright but once disconnected properly from the computer/PC suite the memory was back working OK. I even lost all my music over night until I found the answer to the problem!!

I havent got it connected to the computer I was transferring files from a memory card in the phone onto the phones storage. Possibly a corrupt file? I turned phone off but its still doing it? Will try connecting to pc suite

use mass storage mode or pc u r using pc mode use the nokia phone broswer folder in "my computer" it will allow you to copy or paste

I had this same problem, i was transferring files on my N900, converted movies and was transferring them to watch in bed, well it just halted mid way, and my n900 automatically rebooted, it usually does this dn know y, its really annoying, well then i knew the memory will b readonly in pc mode so i put my n900 in mass storage mode and copied the files, but then my entire system on n900 went read only,

THE ONLY WAY THE READ-ONLY PROBLEM WAS RECTIFIED WAS I CONNECTED TO MY PC in PC SUIT MODE AND THEN PROPERLY DISCONNECTED IT AND ALL IS FINE NOW
